Capacity planning is one of the challenging tasks faced by system administrators. Transaction cost analysis measures the cost of a user operation on the available server resource. Predictive analysis applies a mathematical model to historical data to predict future resource utilization. Performance capacity planning for server components using the TCA methodology helps system owners plan for growth. In this presentation Vishal is going to talk about the TCA methodology and creating an effective Usage Profile for successful implementation of TCA. Vishal is also going to share the formulas used to calculate Transaction cost.
The following topics will be covered:
- Compile a user profile
- Execute discrete tests
- Measure the cost of each operation
- Calculate the cost of an average user profile
- Calculate site capacity
Vishal has over 5 years of diversified experience in Application Development, Project Management and QA Automation. Vishal is currently working as Sr. Developer at Countrywide Financial Co. He has a Bachelor of Engineering, India, and a Masters in Computer Science, Villanova University, Philadelphia.
