and its challenges in the information technology
Farid Nourjahan

Networking Dinner @ 5:45; Bootcamp @ 6:15; Business @ 6:45; Program @ 7:00 PM
Computer technology has one constant element: Change. The rapid change in software technology, design and development mandates daily build and test as a standard practice in large software product companies. By the time a new software is released, there are multitude of different challenges to overcome within large corporations and users. The context and reference of software in this presentation is business systems software that is developed internally.
Based on the computer automation needs defined by the information technology (IT) department and the decisions made by the upper management, the deployment plan begins. Meanwhile, the major areas of concern are: industry competition, budget & time allocation for cost estimates, internal expertise, security risks, existing infrastructure, number of people, trained IT personnel, professional services and consulting fees, job automation, process management, departmental procedures documentation, division of roles & responsibilities, etc. These can become obstacles, potential inadequacies and fears that need to be addressed efficiently and properly when software change is being implemented and introduced to corporate users. This presentation identifies each of the most important corporate IT challenges that accompany new software development cycle and discusses them in detail with recommended solutions.
Farid Nourjahan has had a successful career in the computer industry since 1985. He was hired at Microsoft Corporation in 1992 at the Consulting Services division, where he contributed his knowledge for 11 years to Fortune-500 companies and gained technical & professional expertise. Besides programming in Windows platform from Visual Basic 1.0 to Visual Basic .Net, Mr. Nourjahan has been responsible for architecting software for multi-tier distributed business systems and managing large projects. He is a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) and is also certified in Microsoft Access and SQL Server data modeling, programming and administration. Prior to joining Microsoft, Mr. Nourjahan was a Senior Software Engineer at Omnifax Corporation for five years, developing inter-office communication systems, and spent two years as a programmer for Falcon Industries developing commercial security software systems on C/UNIX platform.
In 2003, Farid chose a different path of life and passion beyond the hands-on career of corporate high-technology, to be an educator. He has obtained his California Teaching Credential and owns Rainbow Seekers Group, an independent training business. Mr. Nourjahan has a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Systems Science, with a minor in Computer Programming from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
