“Making QA Agile: Improving quality in an agile process environmentâ€
Wednesday, November 5, 2003 Networking @ 5:45; Business @ 6:30; Program @ 7:00 PM
Countrywide, 2900 Madera, Simi Valley, CA 93065
QA has to be able to accept the output of the software development process in order to validate that the software conforms to requirements. By applying agile methods and the Theory of Constraints (TOC) concepts to the process of testing and validating software, we will explore how QA can successfully adapt to the changing and evolving agile software development methodologies.
Mac Felsing, a Senior Certified Mentor (CCM) and co-author of “A Practical Guide to Feature Driven Development,†will discuss strategies for improving the quality assurance process by managing and testing the incremental output delivered when agile methods are utilized in the software development life cycle.
Mac Felsing is a spirited innovator, problem solver, and mentor who combines "creative vision" with over 20 years of Information and Systems Development experience covering many diverse application domains including health care, banking, military/logistics, and terrain imaging.
Mac Felsing is co-founder and CTO of ProcessExchange, Inc., a company that fills a void that exists in many companies today, the need to identify methods which take advantage of a companies strengths in process and augment processes in areas that need attention. Today PROCESSexchange enables organizations to reliably and predictably deliver applications on time, in budget with all the features that were agreed to with the client.

Message from your President: Judy Cheves
We have gotten off to an incredible start! Two meetings, two great speakers!
Frank Reynolds’ spoke at our October meeting. His interactive discussion of project quality and evaluating risk was not only well received but generated some great interaction with the audience.
There is more in store for our San Fernando chapter. The board has begun planning for next year.....interesting, informative speakers, discounted training, expanded website and more.
For those of you looking for employment, we are working with companies who would like to list their job opportunities with the chapter. We will be announcing these opportunities at our meetings, publishing in our newsletter and will be setting up our website to post these opportunities, as well.
Mark your calendar now for our next meeting, Wednesday, November 5th. As customer expectations for faster and better increase we are challenged to initiate processes that enable us to get our applications delivered quickly. Often, we in our quest for ‘faster’, the ‘better’ is not delivered. Quality suffers as we focus on schedule. Mac Felsing, our November speaker, will cover these issues in his presentation “Making QA Agile: Improving quality in an agile process environmentâ€. Join us on November 5th, to learn more on this timely topic.
You don’t want to miss the networking session prior to the meeting. Come a little early for great discussion and great food!
Regards,
Judy
